Sandakan Hardware Machinery and Building Material Merchant Association

Sandakan Hardware Machinery and Building Material Merchant Association (SHMBA) is the second hardware association to be established in Sabah after Kota Kinabalu Hardware Merchant Association. Founded in 2007, SHMBA has 56 members who run almost all of Sandakan's hardware businesses, most of which import their products from outside the region. Despite being a sparsely populated area, the demand for hardware in East Malaysia remains high. SHMBA aims to provide a better business environment for its members and to address the problems and challenges faced by hardware merchants. This association is part of the Malaysian Hardware Machinery and Building Material Dealers' Association, and it actively participates in the association's activities while supporting its dialogues with the central government. SHMBA has achieved several milestones, including the purchase of its own office space and the distribution of academic awards to the children of its members. The association's various committees are dedicated to serving its members in a range of ways, and it is hoped that the bonds of friendship between its members will continue to flourish.
