Malaysia Entrepreneurs’ Development Association (PUMM)

The Malaysia Entrepreneurs’ Development Association (PUMM) was established in 1993 as a non-profit, multi-racial organization by a group of young entrepreneurs led by Tan Sri Lee Kim Yew, CEO of Country Heights Bhd. Supported by former Prime Minister Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohammad, PUMM was formed with the main objective of providing a platform for entrepreneurs, particularly those from SMIs and SMEs, to share knowledge, experience, and create new business opportunities through seminars, forums, workshops, business visits, and study trips. PUMM has worked closely with government agencies since its inception to promote business and economic development in the country, particularly among young entrepreneurs. In recognition of PUMM's efforts, in 1999, former Prime Minister Dato' Seri Dr. Mahathir Mohamad directed PUMM to assist in the country’s entrepreneurship in the "Majlis Perundingan Ekonomi Negara Kedua (MAPEN 2)." PUMM also seeks to leverage the benefits of the information age by encouraging the establishment of education facilities to cater to its manpower needs and taking affirmative steps towards creating a reality platform for entrepreneurship. Additionally, PUMM encourages young Malaysians to develop stronger charisma to face the challenges of globalization.
