Malaysian Association Of Tour And Travel Agents (MATTA)

MATTA (Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents) was established in 1975 to represent the interests of travel and tour agents. Currently, MATTA has over 2,900 member organizations, including local and overseas affiliations. As the national umbrella representative body for the travel industry in Malaysia, MATTA operates with a secretariat in Kuala Lumpur and state chapters across the country. Its main objective is to promote the interests of the travel and tour industry and works closely with the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture Malaysia (MOTAC) and the Malaysia Tourism Promotion Board (MTPB). MATTA organizes fairs, seminars, conventions, and workshops to raise public awareness and benefit its members. The association aims to unite, coordinate, and supervise its members' activities, settle disputes, foster camaraderie, represent members to the government and relevant organizations, promote ethical business conduct, educate the public about tours and travel agents, and discourage unfair competition while encouraging fair trading practices.
