Malaysian Private Dental Practitioners’ Association (MPDPA)

Founded in 1966 as the Malaysian Private Dental Practitioners' Society (MPDPS), this organization aimed to support private dental practitioners while complementing the Malaysian Dental Association. Over the years, it achieved significant milestones, including establishing Bersatu Dental Supplies (BDS) to address rising dental material costs and organizing educational events. One notable event is the Annual Dental Surgery Assistant Congress, attracting participants from both private and government sectors. MPDPS also published Probe Magazine, conducted a logo competition, and initiated the Biannual Presidents' Ball Dinner. In 2000, MPDPS became the Malaysian Private Dental Practitioners' Association (MPDPA), reflecting its growing influence. It established its Secretariat and collaborated on international events. The organization's objectives include safeguarding the dental profession's honor, promoting camaraderie, educating the public on dental health, and working with related professional bodies. MPDPA continues to grow and enhance services for private practitioners and members, making significant contributions to the dental community.
