United Chinese Association, Sibu (UCA SIBU)

The United Chinese Association, Sibu (UCA SIBU) was established on November 8, 1977, and is the earliest among the various provinces of the Sarawak United Chinese Association. With over a hundred members, UCA SIBU has successfully eradicated the previously prevalent gangsterism in the Chinese community and brought unity among different Chinese organizations, working towards a common goal for the welfare of the Chinese community. The organization has a well-structured administrative system with various committees responsible for planning and executing activities. UCA SIBU has been active in organizing an average of 40 events annually and has contributed significantly to the development of Chinese education and culture, as well as promoting social harmony. Notably, the organization has assisted in the establishment of several cultural and educational initiatives, including the setting up of scholarship funds and teacher training programs. UCA SIBU also played a crucial role in organizing cultural festivals and promoting mutual understanding among different ethnic groups in the region.
